Democracy's Dictators
Many, if not a majority, of countries hold elections on a regular basis to determine who heads their central government. On the basis of these elections, they claim to be 'democratic'. However, the power vested in that person or persons by each country's legal structure varies widely -- and the difference between what seems to be and what is determines the life, death and liberty of citizens around the world.
While most democratic systems have structured ways to limit the power of a leader, limitations on the authority to dictate the everyday lives of citizens are becoming more theoretical than actual.
At the bottom of the 'democratic' scale, elections may be "one-party" shams or simply 'fixed' to make sure the 'right' candidate is elected. In this case, the label democracy and the democratic elections are a fig leaf for the cruelest of dictatorships. If it is necessary in order to consolidate power, these dictatorships may appear to be quite benign during their first year(s) until they are able to consolidate power and to exert control over every aspect of life.
Even in the world's most famous democracy, the rights of its citizens have been eroded slowly over time. However, until now no administration has been so bold as to use the privilege of Executive Order to override basic rights so completely with the stroke of a Presidential pen.
Some years ago, it was the US Judicial Branch that took to itself the right to rule by self-justified fiat, cowing the Executive and Legislative Branches into accepting their decisions as indisputable. In addition, they imposed their rulings as the precedent for future laws and judgments. In so doing, they literally changed/amended law in many cases, against the express will of many Americans. Today, under Barak O'Bama, the Executive Branch has taken over, expecting acquiescence from the courts through progressive appointments to the bench. The congress is made subservient through party discipline, bribery and threats, thus providing the Legislative 'rubber-stamp' to executive decisions.
Under the label of democracy, the small 'politburo' of czars appointed as 'advisors' in the Executive Branch to head existing government bureaucracies (such as the EPA--environment, FCC--communications, etc.) are slowly taking basic rights from the people. Using agency edicts that have no requirement for Congressional advice and consent, they can immediately apply the full force of the law to enforce them.
These orders are often signed without previous public notice and, when revealed, are usually ignored by a complicit media. Legislative Branch support is purchased by large grants of money for pet causes or congressmen are cowed by threat of non-support for reelection, or worse -- by character assassination and ruin if they don't 'play along'.
Unfortunately, the US is not alone in taking this path. Far from exemplifying Reagan's 'shining city on the hill', the US has increasingly become the 'bully on the block' to the governments of friend and foe alike. The US lead WILL be followed, by choice or force, by Obama-style deceit and manipulation.
Take a look at some recent examples.
World Net Daily reported on the most recent and shocking executive order signed by President Obama: Executive Order 12425 extending the power of Interpol, an agency of the International Court, over the private citizen within the US thus trumping US sovereignty. Given that Interpol works out of the FBI building with mostly American-born agents, this is a dramatic change on the ground for law enforcement in the US. Americans: you are no longer safe from foreign police state power in your own homes.

With the signing of an under-publicized amendment to Executive Order 12425, Barack Obama has fundamentally altered your constitutional rights. His actions are undermining your rights to protect personal privacy from a foreign internationalist police agency named Interpol. A one-paragraph executive order may seem inconsequential to many, but this action has far-reaching implications and threatens the sovereignty of America....
This order marks a significant change in federal policy and usurps the constitutional power of our government by yielding it to an international organization. Michael van Der Galien writes, "This foreign law-enforcement organization can operate free of an important safeguard against government and abuse. Property and assets, including the organization's records, cannot now be searched or seized. Their physical operational locations are now immune from U.S. legal and investigative authorities."
Obama has given an international organization unsupervised freedom to investigate Americans on our own soil without recourse or the supervision of our own government.
Andy McCarthy writing for the National Review asks some very significant questions: "Why would we elevate an international police force above American law? Why would we immunize an international police force from the limitations that constrain the FBI and other American law-enforcement agencies? Why is it suddenly necessary to have, within the Justice Department, a repository for stashing government files which, therefore, will be beyond the ability of Congress, American law-enforcement, the media and the American people to scrutinize?"
Now let us look at some recent decisions in Israel, made under our own form of 'democratic' rule:
Historically, Israel was well-advised and careful about not selling ownership of crucial services to foreigners, no matter how seemingly well-meaning. So why are they selling off institutions crucial to the economic health of Israel? What power group made this decision? and Why? Now we are faced with consequences that clearly should have been expected:
While ostensibly a 'strictly business' decision, Israel Radio and the Jerusalem Post reported as follows;
In February 2001, the Dexia Group, a global leader in public sector financing, acquired control of Otzar Hashilton Hamekomi and presently holds 65.31% of the bank's share capital. Additional shareholders are the Union of Local Authorities. In January last year, Dexia Israel received a full banking license from the Bank of Israel allowing the bank to expand its products and activities in Israel. Sharon Wrobel
Dexia Israel's decision was reported on various Palestinian Web sites as early as June this year, apparently as the result of a political campaign in Belgium.
One pro-Palestinian site quoted Dexia's management as saying that funding Judea and Samaria settlements was against the bank's code of ethics.

(IsraelNN.com) The parent bank of Bank Discount, whose shares the government of Israel recently sold off to French and Belgian interests, has notified regional councils in Judea and Samaria it is cutting off their line of credit. The Dexia Bank, parent of Bank Discount, denies accusations that the decision was based on anti-Semitic considerations.
The bank, which is the official supplier of credit to the regional councils, asked them to close their accounts. Bank Discount’s French shareholders ordered the move, which has left leaders in Judea and Samaria in shock.
Officials of the bank denied charges that pro-Arab groups, who have escalated a campaign to boycott products of Judea and Samaria, pressured the financial institution. The bank signed an agreement with the Finance Ministry this past summer to set up a $70 million line of credit (NIS 274 million) for improving the financial structure of the councils.
Unfortunately, Discount Bank is not the only institution or vital service to be under controlling or significant foreign ownership. Money is a powerful member of the 'politburo'.
At least one might assume that laws ensuring Israel's security would be sacrosanct. Not so, or so we have learned from our own powerful Judicial Branch. Their rulings are often anti-Semitic in their Herculean effort to prove that they are not racist.....even against Jihadists and terrorists.
All Jewish homes must have building permits for even the tiniest porch proof. If not, the homes are destroyed. Palestinians build homes wherever and whenever they choose and their illegal homes are rarely destroyed, usually only within the city of Jerusalem. If land/building issues come to court, the justices nearly always side with the Palestinians.
Jews are not allowed to go into PA areas for any reason. Palestinians have but to show their documents, or at worst, to petition the courts in order to be free to go where they choose.

MKs CONSIDER LEGISLATION TO KEEP HIGHWAY SAFE FROM TERRORISM

(IsraelNN.com) Following the onslaught of angry verbal responses to Tuesday’s Supreme Court ruling forcing the army to open an important artery to Arab traffic, Knesset Members are now considering practical action.
The Court ruled that Route 443, the well-traveled Modiin-Jerusalem highway, cannot be permanently closed to PA Arab traffic. It gave the army five months to come up with security arrangements that will enable the highway to be open safely to Arab traffic.The highway was closed to Palestinian Authority vehicles in 2002 following a wave of terrorist attacks along its route....
In Dec. 2008, a largely parallel six-kilometer route was opened for all-Arab traffic, connecting several Arab villages along Route 443 with Ramallah and ostensibly obviating the need to allow Arab traffic on 443.
Racist and Discriminatory
In nearby Dolev, residents are perplexed at the racism inherent in the ruling. Resident Adi Mintz explains: "We asked the courts many times to allow us to travel on roads that have been closed to us and opened only for Arabs – yet we were turned down. The route we take to Jerusalem now takes us nearly twice as long as before.
There exist a large number of roads (not to mention towns and cities) that are ruled off-limits to Jewish Israelis. Though obviously discriminatory, here decided for the security of Jewish Israelis, the court has not ruled that Israel must find a way to make these roads safe for all races/religions!
Who in Israel has decided to fund (along with millions of US$) the training of Fatah and thus Al Aksa Martyrs in military/security techniques. For years the CIA under George Tenet trained Palestinian snipers on US (the "Great Satan's") soil! Now many more are being trained in Jordan, enabling them to kill more Israeli Jews with greater skill, and now at the expense of those same Israeli citizens. Is it not enough that we approve shipment of weapons to them on a regular basis. Who and why would anyone make these insane suicidal decisions?
Al Aksa Martyrs organization claimed responsibility for the murder of Rabbi Meir Avshalom Chai as he drove with his wife and child in their car along a public highway. The fact that the 3 actual murderers sent on the mission were in turned killed by Israeli Defense Forces, begs the question: Who funded them? Where did they get their weapons?
Israel National News reported:
Bedein's description of the matter means that the United States (headed by President Barack Obama), with the Israeli government's passive agreement, has indirect responsibility for training and funding the terror force which murdered Rabbi Meir Chai.
Has anyone anywhere heard that Barack (US Pres.) and Barak (Israeli Min. of Defense) have taken responsibility for the decisions that contributed to the tragedy?
The above decisions were taken by fiat, by so-called democratic rulers in Israel. Did we elect them to make such a decision on the use of our tax money? Would the public have approved such a decision were it put to a vote? How about the Americans? Would they vote to continue using millions of their tax dollars for training terrorists?
Unless the common people around the world rise up to protect their liberty, the drift toward rule by the power hungry elitists (who think they know better than we how we should live our lives) will pass the point of no return....and our children will no longer be free.
